Biography

Qozeem Abdulrahman Olaoluwa, born in 2000, resides and operates in Badagry, Nigeria, where he has established himself as a visual artist. Qozeem's innate talent and passion have driven him to become a self-taught artist of great proficiency. His preferred mediums of expression include acrylic paints, paper, and charcoal, which he deftly employs on canvas to delve into his personal experiences and observations from his upbringing.

As a mixed media artist, Qozeem draws inspiration from his childhood in a rural environment, reminiscing about the delightful activities that left an indelible imprint on his artistic sensibilities. These formative experiences have influenced him to create mixed media realistic paintings, where he skillfully combines charcoal on paper to depict intricate facial features, while employing a semi-abstract approach for the rest of the bodies in his compositions. Through this technique, Qozeem seeks to explore and portray the myriad activities and games of children, allowing their innocence and exuberance to speak through his art.

The artist's work is a testament to the profound impact of his upbringing, as he passionately infuses his creations with the essence of his own growth and development. By leveraging his art as a means of communication, Qozeem strives to convey the narrative of his upbringing and share the stories that shaped his identity. Whether it is on canvas or any other receptive surface, he believes that art possesses a unique ability to encapsulate personal experiences and connect with others, fostering a deep understanding of the artist's life and the environment that surrounds them.

Qozeem finds fulfillment and joy in his artistic endeavors, as he sincerely believes that the creative process enables him to bring forth something truly unique and authentic. Through his art, he endeavors to convey the intricacies of his own journey, capturing the essence of his upbringing and the environment that envelops him. Each stroke of the brush, every carefully placed mark, and the deliberate interplay of mediums work together to construct a visual representation of his experiences, inviting viewers to engage with his story and embark on their own artistic voyage of discovery. For Qozeem, art is a profound expression of the self and an avenue for forging meaningful connections with others, transcending boundaries of time, culture, and geography.
